My eclipse

The source of energy, ultimate sustainer of life.
Within the core, fusing the tiniest element hydrogen
into next largest, helium.
From fusion, energy radiated, visible and invisible,
small x-rays, ultraviolet and those larger infrared
through radiowaves;
the radiant spectrum – how sexy!

Some short time ago,
Apollo’s view was obstructed,
By earth’s cold orb,
The drama thus resulting,
Inspired all types
On the drifting, lovely,
Aquamarine planet, Earth.
