Jen
September,
She’s newly conceived,
with embryo,
on campus,
second graders follow,
as she walks and smiles.
Change follows time,
seasons pass,
from cells,
a fetus develops fast.
And the children laugh and sing.
April brings rebirth, and humanity rejoices.
So when mother dies from labor,
as son Will cries,
it shocks the mind,
and cripples emotions.
From this sadness,
question is cast.
How to ensure,
Jen, in spirit does endure?

Mark,
Beautiful poem from a beautiful soul. Think of you often. Why Deerfield?
