“Monkey” is an expression
My daughter says to me
When her frustration boils over
And angst is there to see.

I guess its better than others
That could come to her lips
Just recalling some of my own
Sends a shutter down my hips.

Its hard to sometimes take a breath
When troubles come our way
Yet those who do are an accomplished lot
And deserve a bit more to say.
